Info: Prior to formation of Stone Sour, Freakshow was a Des Moines rock band that set the path for Stone Sour’s later success in the music scene.

Info: This band turned into Heroic Dose after Bruce’s departure. Members included Deadfront bassist John Hatterman, and Jimmy and Jay Corigliano.

Atomic Opera

Info: Jim was in Iowan band Atomic Opera in the 80′s with Bruce Swink, Danny Spain, Scott Andreas, Doran Lindsey and Mike Curry.

Taylor-Nichols

Info: While in Stone Sour, Corey had an acoustic side project named Taylor-Nichols. They put out a tape in Waterloo, Iowa and this is very rare. The tape contained ‘Acoustic Ballads’.

Info: Other members of Modifidious included Josh Brainard, Joey Jordison and Craig Jones of Slipknot fame, Ryan Roskam, Tim Cory and Jay (formerly of Avanga).

Noisegate

Info: Jim was Noisegate in 1997, alongside Aaron Peltz (downthesun, ex-Deadfront), Sean Imler, Tim Flor, and Chris Fehn (Slipknot). The band never recorded anything but played various live shows.

Info: Jim was in a band called Deadfront with John Hatterman, Shawn Economaki, Danny Spain, Max Hudson and Aaron Peltz (the latter, currently in downthesun).

Info: Painface was a band that later became known as On A Pale Horse. Anders lead the band as vocalist, and they recorded a demo.

Slipknot

Info: Corey and Jim are members of the world’s greatest metal band: Slipknot. Both were later additions to the band and have been enlightening thousands to their brutal music ever since.

Info: Des Moines band Smakdab are friends of Slipknot, and Corey performed on the song ‘Shadowed’.

Soulfly

Info: Corey and Max Cavalera joined forces to record the brutal song ‘Jumpdafuckup’ on the album Primitive. They both sang the song together at Ozzfest 2001 in Milton Keynes, UK to put on a memorable performance.

Info: Bruce played in Facecage, a band from Des Moines that has played with bands such Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society, 13 Days, Brand New Sin, (hed)PE, Nonpoint, and the best of the local and regional acts in the area.

Snot

Info: James Lynn Strait, singer of the group Snot, died in 1998 in a car accident. Being huge friends, Corey wanted to pay homage to him by composing a moving song entitled ‘Requiem’.

Project-X

Info: When Corey was on the road with Slipknot, lifelong friend Josh Rand was writing songs and when Corey would return home, they would record the songs.

SuperEgo

Info: Prior to the reformation of Stone Sour, the band practiced and recorded under the name of SuperEgo and played a show at House of Bricks in Des Moines, on December 7th 2001. 16 tracks were recorded with Tom Tatman of Living Sacrifice.

Info: Upon realization that the band name SuperEgo was already taken, the band took on Closure. Mick Thompson, guitarist of Slipknot, was rumoured to have played on some tracks.

Slitheryn

Info: Corey worked with Slitheryn and produced an EP called ‘Lost’, after they sent in a cover of ‘Eyeless’ by Slipknot which impressed Corey greatly.

downthesun

Info: Bruce joined downthesun after the departure of Neil Godfrey, but left soon after the band split from Roadrunner Records due to internal issues in the band.

DumFux

Info: The on-going cover band, with other band members including Joe Corigliani (Calous), Dizzy Draztik (Bomb Pop Mafia) and Steve, played a reunion show at HOB, Iowa on New Years Eve 2003.
