Total Rock last month conducted an interview with an interview with Duff McKagan (Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Velvet Revolver, Guns N’ Roses) shortly after his appearance at the Birmingham Guitar Show, which took place February 26-27 at the New Bingley Hall in Birmingham, England. “[Corey Taylor's] the brightest and best singer of a generation and I think he’s killer. But I don’t think Velvet Revolver is… There’s not much urgency there to do much of anything right now, so… one day, hopefully. And I think [Velvet Revolver guitarist] Slash is probably gonna go make another [solo] record [next], so that’s cool. That’s what it is.”
Stone Sour took part in an acoustic performance and a question-and-answer session with fans during an appearance in early February at the studios of the Boise, Idaho radio station KQXR 100.3 The X Rocks.

Jacksonville, Florida is about to become an annual destination for rock music fans across the country. The first annual Welcome To Rockville festival will be held along the beautiful St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville at Metropolitan Park on Sunday, May 8, featuring over 20 bands, including Godsmack, Seether, Stone Sour, Theory Of A Deadman, Puddle Of Mudd, Skillet, Halestorm, Rev Theory, My Darkest Days, Jacksonville’s own Cold and many others. The event will feature three stages of continuous music throughout the day.
“I’m not from Jacksonville, I’ve only lived here for a few years,” commented strong>Stone Sour‘s lead guitarist Jim Root. “I’ve been all over the world and seen almost every great city there is… After 12 years I decided to call Jacksonville home.”
